TELEGRAPH.CO.UK -- June 13 --
Sniff (the Social Network Integrated Friend Finder) has been very popular in Scandinavia, with around 100,000 users registering in the past six months alone, and it's now available in the UK. It's a new application that can be installed on mobile phones and social networks, providing users with a detailed map of their friends' whereabouts at any given moment. Useful Networks, the American company behind Sniff, says the purpose of the pplication is to put an end to those slightly desperate "Where r ?" texts that it claims account for a large chunk of the messages we send.
Mark Brooks: Loopt is the USA equivalent. Helio offers the 'Buddy Beacon.' Where's Dodgeball in this picture? Hiding somewhere in the Google think-tank waiting for Android, perhaps.
