REPORT ON BUSINESS -- July 7 --
MySpace is the 6th most visited website
in the world (Alexa) and the bulk of its users reside in the U.S. However, it has trailed
Facebook in signing up new members in international markets and is ramping up efforts to draw in users in Korea, India and China. In Canada, MySpace doesn't crack the Top 10 most visited websites. Facebook has more than 13m Canadian users, compared with about 4m for MySpace. Online advertising spending in Canada surged past $1.2-billion in 2007, according to a recent Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada report. "Canada is a priority for MySpace International," said the new general manager of MySpace Canada, Dave
Stevens, the former CanWest executive.
